I have four cats, three of which are not so complex as the fourth.  The fourth is a philosopher...a mystic, not an existential.  I had a Scotty dog once that was a poet and existential philospher.  We fostered it until we found a home.  One can only take so much.

 

So, Bear is the matriarch.  I often awake in the middle of the night with her on my chest, looking me in the eye.  Sometimes her intent is no more than to have her ears & neck scratched...very material needs.  Sometimes she comes back with profound declarations that I can only ponder.

 

So, the other day, I wake up & there she is perched upon my chest.  She said "power comes from actions, not from words".  I accused her of plagiarism, but could not cite sources, so I had no argument.  Of course, I scrathed her ears and neck & went back to sleep.
